Poetry reading in Ireland!

A few years ago, I looked up literary magazines based in Ireland with a vague idea that if one of my poems was accepted, I would use the excuse to travel there.
Ragaire came up in my Duotrope search, and they sent me a very nice rejection. I continued to follow them and liked their vibe. This spring they accepted my poem, Book Club Questions for [title of poetry collection]. Ben and I had the savings and the time so we did some rapid planning and made it to the in-person launch for Issue 5, May 22 in Galway!
SO MUCH FUN!

I got to meet Ragaire’s editors, Cormac Culkeen, Aileen McCarthy, and Lucy Bleeker and submissions manager Mary Tighe. What an amazing crew! They have created a compelling magazine and a vibrant community within Ireland and internationally.
As well I got to meet and hear the talented featured poet, Nithy Kasa, and most of the amazing contributors who were there that night. Added to that, I got to chat with several kind and interesting audience members.
